Free WiFi in some public places in Mexico City

Mexico City now has free WiFi for residents and visitors within large influx points. This program aims to increase access to the web for everyone. Now, Zocalo, Alameda Central, Parque México and Parque España have available a free public wireless network so everybody could surf the web for up to two continuous hours (this type of wireless access points could handle about 2,500 users at the same time).

In a second phase, this program will be extended to Plaza Garibaldi, Bosque de Tlalpan, Viveros Coyoacan, Bosque de Chapultepec, and Bosque de Aragon. A future expansion is also expected in areas like Iztapalapa and Gustavo A. Madero.

To access the public network, the local government prepared a brief guide for the users (see below).

1) Find a #CDMX WiFi Zone; 2) Turn on WiFi on your device; 3) Connect to "Infinitum Movil" network; 4) Open your favorite browser, you'll se the GDF site, then you are ready to surf the web.
